The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hampshire County (CAC) is a welcoming and warm place where children who have experienced abuse, assault, and exploitation can receive all the services they need under one roof.
The CAC partners with a multidisciplinary team that responds to allegations of child abuse and makes a plan to keep kids safe and help them heal. The multidisciplinary team consists of law enforcement, child welfare agencies, prosecution, advocates, prevention specialists, medical providers, and mental health providers. Our team works collaboratively to ensure children are respected and listened to. The CAC’s mission is to prevent and end child abuse by providing safety, healing, and justice.
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hampshire County was established in 1998 in response to the need for coordination and communication among the multiple agencies responding to child abuse. CACs minimize the number of times a child has to talk about their abuse, coordinate service delivery, and reduce the risk of a child being re-traumatized.
There are CACs in every County in Massachusetts and throughout the country.
The CAC of Hampshire County does not discriminate based on race, color, national original, religion, sex, ability, status, age, gender identification, or sexual orientation in the delivery of services.
